Outdoor Climbing

Currahee Mountain

From Atlanta, take I-85 North to I-985 North. This will eventually become US Highway 441. Take the first Toccoa exit (17/365) and turn right. Follow this down the mountain to a traffic light/intersection. Turn right on Highway 123 and proceed about three miles (you will pass the Georgia State Patrol headquarters on the right). Turn left onto a gravel road, just before a Milliken manufacturing plant, and follow it to the top of Currahee Mountain. The trail skirts the edge of the fenced tower and goes sharply downhill to the top of the Slab Area. A scramble down an obvious gully leads to the bottom. The trail to the Brick Wall branches off right along the hillside before descending the Slab Area gully.

To get to Currahee Mountain from the north, take one of several Toccoa exits off of I-85. In Toccoa, take Highway 123 out of town, following the aforementioned directions.
